This photograph was taken near Newcastle NSW.
 Humpback whales have individually unique tail flukes, like a human fingerprint.
Around 25,000 Humpback Whales head up the east coast of Australia on their annual migration for Summer food. Humpbacks are known for singing loud, complex “songs”. Scientists are studying these sounds to decipher their meaning. It is most likely that humpbacks sing to communicate with others and to attract potential mates. Humpbacks are powerful swimmers, and they use their massive tail fin, called a fluke, to propel themselves through the water and sometimes completely out of it.

This is a fine art painting original printed on superior quality 308gsm paper. It is 100% cotton rag, acid free paper, printed with high quality Epson inks.

WARNING: DO NOT UNROLL YOUR PRINT BEFORE FRAMING. IT IS ADVISED THAT YOU ALLOW THE FRAMER TO UNROLL YOUR PRINT TO AVOID DAMAGING THE PIECE. THE PRINT IS DELICATE AND CAN CREASE OR TEAR SO HANDLE THE PIECE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ASK THE FRAMER TO REMOVE ALL TAPE FROM THE PACKAGING BEFORE UNROLLING. IF YOU CHOOSE TO UNROLL YOUR PIECE AND DAMAGE DOES OCCUR, I WILL REPLACE YOUR PRINT AT COST.
